Mt. Pleasant CME Church/Cemetery
The Mt. Pleasant CME Church/Cemetery is located on the north side of Thomaston on Highway 25.
Patricia Cade reports that Mt. Pleasant CME was a Mission church of Ephraim CME Church, Hugo. Note: Ephraim was located near the present day Holt Cemetery. The lumber and tin from the old structure was used in the construction of Mt. Pleasant. Patricia’s father, Clark Cade, Jr. helped in the construction. The cornerstone is on the right hand side of the building and has the name of the pastor and the date the structure was built. The Cade Family continued to have services in the structure on the 3rd Sundays until 1993. Rev. Henry Gillis was the pastor. The cemetery serves as the Cade Family burial plot.
